Come Write with Me and Téa Jones-Yelvington!
We still have five spots in our online flash prose writing workshop
Dear friends,
This summer, Téa Jones-Yelvington and I are leading a workshop focused on flash prose entitled Work that Matters: Writing Prose to Bear Witness in this Political Moment. During this six session workshop, participants will generate four new works and have the opportunity to discuss their work with their peers and the instructors. At the end, we will host a reading on Zoom where each participant will be invited to share one of their pieces.
Téa and I are very different writers, but we share two things in common: we are both committed to writing that enlarges the reader’s understanding of the world and we are each, in our own way, drawn to experimental forms and unexpected prose.
I should add, though I wish I didn’t have to, that we are committed to keeping this an antisemitism-free workshop. Perhaps you, like me, having been giving literary events you used to love a wide birth for the last two years because workshops and events felt unsafe. I want to assure you that we are both committed to keeping this a welcoming space for all writers.
If this speaks to you, we’d love to have you join us! Please reach out to me at sarahemc2@gmail.com or to Téa at tea@teajonesyelvington.com for more information or to sign up.
Best,
Sarah
