The Workshop (which focuses on creative nonfiction, but is open to fiction writers and poets who are interested in expanding their writing practice to include, or whose practice already includes, writing from life) :
Cost: $2000 (includes two dinners, all breakfasts, workshops, and a private room in a charming chalet in Fugen, Austria.)

This year, we'll be joined by the fabulous Penny Guisinger as our morning workshop leader! Penny Guisinger is the author of Shift: A Memoir of Identity and Other Illusions, forthcoming from University of Nebraska Press, and Postcards from Here: A Memoir in Vignettes, published by Vine Leaves Press. She is the founding director of Iota: Short Prose Conference, which is staging for the eighth time in 2023 in easternmost Maine. Her essays have appeared in Solstice, Guernica, Fourth Genre, River Teeth, the Rumpus, and others. Pushcart nominated, a three-time Best American Essays notable, and a winner of a Maine Literary Award. She lives and writes in a house on Whiting Bay with her wife, two teenagers, and a slowly increasing number of dog.

Daily Schedule
June 8th: For those who have selected to fly into Munich and arrive a day early, there will be a meetup in a conveniently located restaurant at 7pm. Cost of your meal is your individual responsibility.
June 9th:
For those traveling with the group, meet at the agreed location at 2pm
Arrive at the chalet between 4pm and 6pm.
Dinner provided at the chalet at 7pm
June 10th:
Provided Breakfast Available from 7:30-9:30 (there are changes coming to the chalet, with the kitchen made separate from the dining area, so I will be able to clean up without disturbing the the workshop)

Rides available:
Fugen proper, where there are restaurants, cafes, shops, and other amenities within walking distance, at 12:30pm with pick-up at 3:30pm

Departures (we ask that everyone’s travel plans have them leaving the chalet no later than noon on this final day)
Last year we had a great time and we’re already seeing work published that began in the workshop. We’d love to have you join our growing little family!

Are there any scholarships? Would love to go but no way I can afford on fixed income. Is it handicapped accessible at all? I use a walker (I know much of Europe isn’t). Thanks- sounds fabulous!
