Every time I sit down and actually write, I’m amazed at how writing begets more writing. A character does something I didn’t plan, or an unexpected object shows up on the page. None of these things happen when I sit there and THINK about writing. It’s like the conscious act of creation gives back to us by creating what we weren’t conscious of. (Did that make sense in something other than a “magic mushrooms” kind of way?)
